Julie, Zachary, and Lindsay Pope came to visit today! It was a TON of fun. We just hung out around the house, went to Target, played the Wii, and took lots of pictures of the dogs. Lindsay is quite the amateur photographer! I can't wait for our next road trip to Pennsville!
The Wist family had quite a busy weekend! We hung Michael's swing...went for a walk with the pups...and celebrated Father's Day with Mick's parents...all in two days!! While at the Wist's house, Michael tried cool whip for the first time. Naturally, he loved it! He only had a teeny tiny bit...given to him in Mick's baby spoon! Now that he is eating solid food, feeding him has definitely become more fun. I am realizing how difficult it is to post on these busy weekends!!!
Michael and I had a wonderful day today! We hopped in the car and went up to Red Lion, PA to visit with dear friends of mine, Kaye, Amy, and Heidi...and ALL the kids!!! Elise, Natalie, Braden, Zachary, and Michael had a playdate! It was great to have all the kids together. They are all at such different stages! We had a terrific day of play, chatter, yummy subs, and even yummier brownies! God bless Heidi for letting all of us invade her home. I am sure they all took a HUGE nap after we left. Thankfully, Michael slept the entire way up and back. PHEW! Here are some cute shots from the day.
Michael and I went to lunch today with "Aunt" Shannon...it was TERRIFIC! Today was the first day we tried to eat in a restaurant with the portable high chair. It was a success! All I did was feed Michael puffs the whole time. He was perfectly content in his seat. PHEW! This opens a whole new world of possibilities. We can go to lunch...dinner...whenever and wherever we want! I am also thrilled to report that he then stayed in his stroller while in the mall for over an hour! HOORAY!
Well, we are trying very hard to catch up on our sleep (after the loooong weekend). Lat night, Michael went down at his normal time (6 pm) but fought going to sleep BIG TIME. It was brutal. That is what being over tired does to him! Once he was down, he slept great. Only one wake up (3:30) and then up for the day at 7!! NICE! He took a big ol' nap from 9:44-11:10 (I am keeping track of all sleep now). Then, we went to big boy Gymboree. He is now sleeping again (after fighting his afternoon nap). Hopefully, he will get some more much-needed rest. Now that he is 7 months, we are trying to get to a two nap day. It will be much better...for both of us. All of this transitioning is just one more reminder to me of how quickly my little boy is growing up. I cannot believe he is 7 months old!!! I took this photo of him today in his former favorite thing...the Jumperoo. I don't think it has much life left in it...he gets too bored, too quickly! BOO!
We are home from a fantastic, yet crazy busy, weekend in Ocean City Hon! Michael and I left early Saturday and arrived in the early afternoon (Mick came later). The kids played in the pool while Michael and Jack enjoyed some play time in the shade. It was so nice to hang out with the family! The next day, (after awaking at 5 am) we spent the afternoon at the boardwalk, then back to Carole's for more family fun. We came home today (after awaking at 4:53 am) and are all EXHAUSTED. I am still waiting on some photos from Aunt Suzanne (hint hint). Here is one of Michael, chillin in his stroller, enjoying the boardwalk for the first time!
The fact that Michael stayed in his stroller for a while is HUGE. He has been on a stroller strike for a while now. BUT, the Bjorn is getting quite heavy, so I am thrilled! He even stayed in it while Mick and I ate!!!
Jill and Ryan came over to play today! We started the morning with Play Partners (story time) at the Library. Michael and Ryan both loved it! Ryan was the hit of the show. :) Then we all came home, ate, and the boys took their naps. Once everyone was up and fed, we hit the park! Michael was sooo entertained by Ryan the whole day! We both can't wait for the next time!
Michael had just tickled Ryan's feet after lunch!
Ryan found two sticks at the park that he loved!
Michael's only shot from the park...he was "Bjorned" the whole time!
Michael and I had so much fun outside today! The weather is beautiful, so I am trying to "play" outside as much as I can. It is way too nice to be indoors. I like to bring the excersaucer out there so he can have a nice view of everything and he is contained. He is moving sooo much now that I cherish every small moment of containment I can get! After that, we played on the parachute. He LOVED it! He is currently obsessed with grass. He likes to feel it and study it. I have several pics from today...I couldn't choose just 2!!
Today was the first day that Michael rode in a shopping cart! Sadly, I forgot my camera, so I had to take pics using my camera phone. As expected, the quality is TERRIBLE! But, I am so thankful for camera phones, otherwise, I would not have any documentation of this special event! WOW...this will make shopping SO MUCH easier. Especially since Michael does not like his stroller!
I can't believe it...my little baby turned 7 months old yesterday! The time has just flown by. When I think about what we were doing seven months ago today...changing diapers for the first time, trying to get him to eat, staring at this amazing little creature we had created...it is amazing. Today, I took tons of pictures of him sitting and crawling (or trying to:)). He is a totally different baby now! What an awesome thing to witness. And...we have only just begun!
This morning, we tried Puffs for the first time. Michael really didn't know what to do with them. He kept trying to pick them up, but they just stuck to his fingers. :) I took this picture while he was attempting to eat them. It looks to me like he is saying "Hey, Mom, where the heck is my puff?!"
By the way, Mick and I flew to Connecticut this weekend for his cousin Greg's wedding. Michael stayed at Grandmother and Granddad's and slept for 12 straight hours! He has NEVER done that for me!!! Hmmm....I wonder what Grandmother's tactics are....
Michael and I went to Jen Pileggi's today. We had such a wonderful time playing with Josephine and Gabriella! Michael had a chance to swing in their fabulous baby swing. He as unsure at first, but then, once he got the hang of it, he loved it! I am going to post a before and after shot. In the first one, he is extremely confused...in the second he is so proud that he figured it out! I can't wait to get one of our own!
Well, we officially have a scooter! Michael can basically army crawl wherever he wants. It definitely changes things. We will have to baby proof this house ASAP. I am talking sharp corners, dog bowls, fireplace...UGH! As I was typing, he got himself into this mess!
We also started Level 2 at Gymboree this morning! It was SOOOO different than the "baby" class. He gets to crawl all over the equipment and mats. He is, again, the youngest in his class. Oh well, now we get to see what he will be able to do in the upcoming months! We already know someone in the class...one of Michael's first friends, Hannah. She was in the baby class for a few weeks when we started. Her mom cannot believe how BIG Michael is! He was just a little tiny baby when Hannah moved up to Level 2. I can't wait to see how much he changes because of this class!
Whew! We have been TRYING to get good shots for Mick's first Father's Day gift. What a task with a never-stays-still 6 1/2 month old! Michael can technically sit nowadays, but just doesn't want to. He will stay on his bum for only seconds. Try photographing that all alone!! I will keep trying until the last possible day...would have loved to get some outside shots, but it is soooo hot! Here is a cute one from our latest session. Make sure to read the shirt. Enjoy! :)
I honestly don't know what we would do if there was no such thing as a Baby Bjorn. Michael is a heavy little guy (20 lbs. at 6 months!!)...and he likes to be held. As you can imagine, our arms get rather tired! So, Mick and I "wear" him in his Bjorn. All three of us love it! It also comes in handy when we go shopping...since my precious angel doesn't like his stroller. :) Thank you Baby Bjorn!!
Well, Michael got his first puppy injury. Jack-jack was sooo excited to see him yesterday that he jumped up and accidentally scratched his upper lip. :( He only cried for a second...and then went right back to laughing at his two favorite dogs! I am so glad it is only a little scratch. I would have felt TERRIBLE if he was really hurt. Especially since it happened on my watch!
